Shenika Marie Batchelor, Co-Founder of Amarna Assisted Living, is redefining elder care across the MENA region through a rare blend of innovation, compassion, and vision rooted in personal experience.
Inspired by her family’s tradition of service, Shenika began her career in government healthcare as a hospital corpsman, where advancement required not only technical skill but also mentoring others, shaping policy, and serving her community. She rose to leadership as President of the Junior Enlisted Association and later headed departments at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, where she helped design procedures that strengthened patient care and staff readiness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she balanced frontline nursing with policy leadership, developing safety protocols for infection control and vaccination.
By her mid-20s, Shenika had already raised over half a million dollars for nonprofits, volunteered thousands of hours, and earned multiple Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. At 26, she used her savings to purchase her first property and transformed it into an assisted living home – inspired by her grandmother’s need for care and her vow to provide elders with dignity and love. That bold step launched her career as a healthcare entrepreneur.
Today, she is pioneering Amarna Assisted Living in Egypt – the nation’s first luxury senior living community built on world-class standards and holistic wellness, and one of the first of its kind in the MENA region. Amarna is designed as a holistic community where residents receive advanced medical care, memory and wellness programs, hospitality-level services, and cultural enrichment, while staff are empowered through training, professional growth, and wellness support.
