Born and raised in Kumanovo, Macedonia, Ivan Krstevski studied industrial engineering and management at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje. In 2011 he moved to Chicago, where he earned his commercial driver’s license and began his career as a truck driver.
In 2015, Ivan founded Cargo Runner Co with a fleet of five trucks. From the start, he built the company on safety, compliance and long-term relationships with partners and drivers. During the pandemic, Cargo Runner Co kept all of its employees, and as the market recovered, it doubled in size within a single year. Under his leadership, the family-owned carrier grew to 150 trucks and more than 100 million miles driven.
Cargo Runner Co was named to the 2022 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. It has earned numerous awards from its partners, including Carrier of the Year from J.B. Hunt Transport Services and Platinum Carrier from Werner Enterprises.
In 2022, Ivan returned to Kumanovo, where he oversees Cargo Runner’s operations in Macedonia. The company is headquartered in the Chicagoland area and also has offices in Kumanovo and Bitola. These offices create skilled jobs that let local professionals build international careers at home. Today, Ivan serves as founder and advisor to his partners, who lead the company in the United States.
Beyond business, Ivan is a member of ‘Gragjanska inicijativa za razvoj na socijalen kapital’ (Civic Initiative for the Development of Social Capital), a civic organization in Kumanovo. He has been named one of the Business Elite’s 40 Under 40 Honorees for 2026.
Looking ahead, he remains focused on Cargo Runner Co’s sustainable growth and the development of his hometown.
