Dr. Nermine Habib is an orthopaedic surgeon based in Switzerland, specializing in foot and ankle surgery, with a strong focus on diabetic foot care. She is the CEO and founder of the Swiss Diabetic Foot Centers, dedicated to providing specialized, multidisciplinary care aimed at preventing and treating complications in high-risk diabetic patients.
Navigating a traditionally male-dominated field, Dr. Habib faced significant challenges during her training, often having to prove herself in the face of bias and resistance. In response, she founded the Swiss Female Orthopaedics Association in 2021. As its founding president, she created a platform to encourage female medical students to explore orthopaedics and support young female surgeons in achieving their highest potential.
Her leadership in both clinical care and gender equity was recognized in 2024 when she was named one of the Top 10 Women Surgeons in Switzerland.
