Christine Gapuz

Director of Operations at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub

Christine began her career at LabCorp, managing staff in processing samples for HIV and HCV treatment. She also expanded her experience into the medical diagnostics, chemical distribution, and energy sectors. At Pharmaceutical Product Development, she led West Coast teams across four biotech companies, overseeing client relationships, billing, business development, and laboratory personnel. At Emerald Cloud Lab, Christine served as VP of Operations, leading a rapid scale-up effort by growing her team from about 30 to 130 members within six months and establishing a training team. In this role, she managed lab operations, inventory, and logistics, demonstrating strong change management skills in a dynamic startup environment. Currently, as Director of Operations at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, she oversees facilities, laboratory operations, office management, and logistics, fostering collaboration between scientists and engineers on ambitious research projects. Christine holds a B.S. in Bio-Chemical Engineering from UC Davis, with published research in the Journal of Physical Chemistry. She also earned an MBA from Pepperdine University, enhancing her global management insights with studies in Dublin, Ireland, and Oxford University.

Alongside her current role, she serves on the advisory board for the University of San Francisco’s School of Management and is a member of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Community Fund Review Board, further demonstrating her dedication to driving social change.
