Borche Kuzmanovski is an environmental and waste management professional with more than 15 years of experience in the sector. He began his career in 2010 as a Waste Management and Recycling Coordinator, working directly with waste collection, recycling operations and logistics.
Over the following years, he progressed through waste management, environmental programmes and circular economy initiatives, gaining experience across both the operational and strategic sides of the sector. This path led him to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and executive leadership.
Today, Borche serves as Executive Director of OILTEK and GUMATEK, collective EPR operators for waste oils and end-of-life tires in North Macedonia. He leads the development of collection and treatment systems, cooperation with producers and importers, licensed collectors and recyclers, and investments in waste management infrastructure.
Under his leadership, OILTEK has built an organized waste oil management system that connects importers, licensed collectors and recyclers through a national collection and treatment network, consistently exceeding the national collection targets. At GUMATEK, he leads the country’s largest collective system for end-of-life tires, representing approximately 63% of the national market for newly imported tires.
Borche holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Resources and Waste Management. His current work is focused on expanding collection infrastructure, improving waste traceability and developing domestic treatment capacity for waste streams covered by EPR systems.
