I am the senior vice president of Hood & Associates. I oversee the revenue producing departments of the firm which include our tax department, accounting, payroll, tax resolution, and retirement planning. We are actively disrupting the tax and accounting industry by focusing on bringing a membership based wholistic planning approach to our clients that encompasses all facets of our financial lives into one easy to manage plan backed by over a hundred tax and financial experts.
I graduated college from Oklahoma State University with a bachelors degree in accounting and another in finance. I absolutely love what I do because it is a platform to help those around me with topics and issues that no one else is helping them with. I carry that passion into all phases of my life. I’m on the board of a worldwide charity that focuses on protecting the most vulnerable orphans and widows across the world. I have begun my own local family foundation that will be focusing on doing the same type of work with children locally to help give them a hand up and provide the financial knowledge necessary to be successful in this life. And perhaps my greatest accomplishment in life is that I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have four incredible children that I get to come home to.
Here at Hood & Associates we tell a story that we have dubbed the starfish story. It’s about two people walking along the beach where there are thousands of starfish just laying on the shore. As they walk one of the people is one by one throwing starfish back into the ocean. The other person asks the first, what are you doing? You’re wasting your time, you’ll never throw enough back to make a difference. And the first simply responds by saying I made a difference to that one and to that one and to that one. That is how we operate as a company and that is how I try to live my life. I have been deeply blessed to have the people in my life that I have had. I wouldn’t have accomplished the things in life that I have without their influence, guidance, and mentorship. I hope that I will be able to exponentially increase the impact they have had in my life by giving back to all those around me that want it.
