Kris McCarthy is the Co-Founder & COO of FanSaves, an innovative digital platform offering fans discounts and deals from the sponsors of their favorite teams and organizations. Kris is a former professional hockey player who turned his passion for sports, sponsorship and marketing into an international business.
Kris grew up in Ottawa, Ontario and studied Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam, where he was recently awarded the 2024 Rising Star Award. After graduating, Kris transitioned from his professional hockey career into the front office of two minor professional hockey teams as the Sales & Marketing Director. It was this career experience that led him to help co-found FanSaves.
Leading the FanSaves Sales team and heading up Business Development, Kris has closed partnerships with teams in dozens of professional sports leagues while also creating and executing a growth strategy that saw the company partner with NASCAR, after being part of the Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech Accelerator. The company has helped thousands of brands and businesses promote deals to fans across North America and the world.
Kris is an award-winning entrepreneur and is also the co-host of the Living the Startup Podcast, a public speaker and an advocate for mental health and DEI initiatives. He currently serves as the Secretary on the Executive Board of Directors for the United Way Cornwall SDG, where he helps combat homelessness and poverty through fundraising and advocacy efforts. Kris also serves as the Chair for the Algonquin College Sports Business Management PAC where he helps steer the curriculum and engage outside interest holders.
