Danni “Amapoundcake” Adams is an activist, social media influencer, writer, body image coach, and speaker. As a native of Sanford, FL, Danni is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned a bachelors in Sociology and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Florida.
With the educational tools and lived experience she accumulated, it fueled her passion to assist in removing the negative stigma that Holywood beauty standards have placed on women and girls, food insecurities, race relations, and women’s rights. In 2021, Danni co-founded a body image coaching course for professionals who provides direct services to those struggling with body image dysphoria. To further her activism and interest, she worked alongside physicians to help minimize anti-fat bias in health care, and even partnered with Seminole County health department to decrease food disparities in low income communities.
Amapoundcake is dedicated to reimagining beauty. Last year, she launched her own products that mostly highlighted the beauty of fat Black Women; who she believes have been negatively impacted by a long history of anti-Black beauty standards. She shares a community vision where people of all backgrounds are not socially, politically, or economically restricted from moving freely.
The audacious body image coach has been invited to speak at higher education institutes such as Harvard University, University of Ottawa, Bethune Cookman University where she discussed race, beauty, and more. She’s been featured on ABC’s Tamron Hall Show and The Sisaundra Show. Her work has been featured in Hello Beautiful, The Curvy Fashionista, Madam Noir, Ebony Online and more.
